Robert Norwood is Associate Vice President for Academic Administration and Dean of Undergraduate Studies at John Brown University. He is also a Professor of Engineering. In his role as Associate Vice President, Dr. Norwood oversees institutional assessment and accreditation, coordinates the faculty evaluation system, and serves as JBU’s accreditation liaison with the Higher Learning Commission. As Dean of Undergraduate Studies, he provides leadership for development and enhancement of undergraduate education at John Brown University.
Dr. Norwood has taught engineering and computer science at John Brown University since 1998. Before joining John Brown University, he worked at Intel, Sun Microsystems, and Silicon Graphics.
He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and serves the IEEE as an ABET program evaluator. He also serves as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
Dr. Norwood is a graduate of Stanford University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He continued at Stanford and earned a master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a Ph.D. minor in computer science.
