If you want to make more money, consider finishing your bachelor's degree.
Last month, the Pew Research Center highlighted the value of a college diploma in their report The Rising Cost of Not Going to College, asserting that in today's economy, a degree is more important than ever. And while most of us have heard the statistic that college graduates earn more than $1M more in their lifetimes (a stat that's still true, by the way), consider a more immediate payout: college graduates ages 25 to 32 who work full time earn about $17,500 more annually than their counterparts with high school diplomas.
But if you're one of many Americans for whom life interfered with finishing your degree, it's not too late to complete your goal and enhance your resume. Many students in the Degree Completion Program tell us they're back in classes because they've gone as far as they can in their careers without a college degree, or that they know a diploma will make them more competitive in a crowded applicant pool.
And while the piece of paper is certainly important to career advancement, the skills you learn in your degree program can truly set you apart in the workplace. In JBU's newly-redesigned Organizational Management program, students learn skills that make them more valuable to their companies – things like writing effective emails and giving powerful presentations as well as working with diverse individuals and analyzing data for decision making.
A college degree is important, but so is the education behind it. Finish your degree on a schedule that works with your life in our Degree Completion Program, and prepare yourself for a better life for you and your family.
