Sarah Erdman, Resident Director of Mayfield Hall

My name is Sarah Erdman and I am the Resident Director of Mayfield Hall. I graduated from John Brown University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in  Biology. After graduation, I was granted a two-year assistant position in the  Graduate Business Division at JBU and after completion of my coursework, I received my Masters of Science in Leadership and Higher Education in May 2010.

During my time as an undergraduate student at JBU, I lived in Mayfield Hall and was a Resident Assistant {RA} for two years. I was also involved in numerous activities and leadership roles around campus. During my summer breaks, I traveled to Northern Ireland on a JBU mission trip, worked for two summers as a counselor and a director at a camp in Texas, and took biological field courses in the state of Washington. In February 2009, I married Brock Erdman who is currently a graduate fellow at the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics.

I love being able to serve in Mayfield Hall, the place where so much of my own personal development during college took place. I have many fond memories of my time living in the residence hall, and it is so much fun to be back!!  I love building relationship with the students and walking through life with them, and Brock is adapting well to being the lone “Mayfield Man.” Living in the dorm provides a great opportunity for a seamless living/learning environment that can be both fun and challenging!  I feel truly honored and blessed to be able to work where I do.
