Robert Walker
Head Coach

Robert Walker has served the tennis teams for the past eight years, six years as head coach and two years as faculty advisor. 

Walker is a graduate of the University of Arkansas (’77) where he majored in school health education.  He received his master’s degree in community health education from the University of Wisconsin in 1981 and an Ed. D in community health education from Arkansas in 1987. 

Walker began playing tennis in high school and carried the passion over into his college career.  Although he didn’t compete on the varsity team, he competed in and helped organize numerous tennis tournaments and also gave individual and group lessons for city recreational programs.   

Walker took over the tennis program at JBU in 2004, after being hired in 1999 as an Associate Professor of Kinesiology.  He has received USPTA training and has helped the tennis program continue to improve throughout the years.
