Tennis inks a pair
Siloam Springs, Arkansas (May 25, 2012) — Brandon Laney of Clever, Mo. and Marissa Russmann of Wheaton, Ill. have committed to play men’s and women’s tennis at JBU next year.
Laney played No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles for Clever High School, while Russmann played No. 1 singles during her junior and senior seasons at Wheaton North High School where she was awarded both DVC All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors.
“We are very excited that both these student-athletes have chosen to continue their education and compete for John Brown University,” said JBU Director of Athletics Robyn Daugherty. “Brandon will be a great addition to our team, and I expect Marissa to add her passion and skills to the program, which will help her be a great tennis player for JBU.”
Laney, the son of Colleen Laney, plans to major in international business, while Russmann’s intended major is public relations.
