Toilet Paper Game
Perhaps one of the most recognized athletic traditions at JBU is the annual Toilet Paper Game. At the first home men’s basketball game each season, on the first FIELD GOAL by JBU, toilet paper is tossed onto the floor by fans. (see accompanying photo) This is an exciting event and draws many fans and brings on the first technical foul of the year.

All American Pictures
Athletes earning NAIA All-American status for their athletic performance have their picture(at the conclusion of their senior year), the All-American Certificate and a certificate outlining their accomplishments framed and placed in the Hallway of WLHC. At the present time (fall 2003), there are 11 All-American pictures.

Hall of Fame
Former athletes and coaches who have achieved notable accomplishments may be elected to the JBU Athletic Hall of Fame. If elected, a plaque with a picture of the honoree, a list of their accomplishments and the year in which they were inducted hangs in the Hall of Fame room overlooking the basketball court in Murray Sells Athletic Center.

Champions of Character
JBU has elected to participate in the NAIA “Champions of Character” program. Each year at the beginning of the fall semester, a program is held to outline the “Champions of Character” program and a speaker is enlisted to challenge JBU athletes to abide by the 5 core values of the program. Those values are respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

Cannon Fire
During men’s soccer games on campus, for each goal the JBU team scores a cannon is fired from behind the goal.

Volleyball Candy
For 10 years, the JBU volleyball team has distributed candy to the fans following the introductions at the beginning of volleyball matches on the JBU campus.

Rugby Team Dress-up Night
At the first home volleyball game, the rugby team dresses in women’s dresses and parades into the arena just about the time the first game is to begin. They sit/stand behind the bench and cheer on the team (loudly) during the entire match.
