John Brown Women Win 2nd Soccer Game
Siloam Springs, AR (September 2, 2003) — For the second time in as many games, the Golden Eagle women’s soccer team overpowered their opponent shutting out Oklahoma Wesleyan University 8-0 in a match played at John Brown University. After a 2-0 halftime lead, JBU exploded for 6 goals in the first 30 minutes of the second half on their way to the victory. Sophomore Brooke Williams and freshman Nikki Ganter led the way with 2 goals each. Sophomore Alisha Myers had 2 assists and freshman Jessica Roberts had 2 saves at the goalkeeper position.
JBU dominated the offensive action with 29 shots on goal compared to 3 for The Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan.
JBU will return to action on Saturday in Wichita, Kansas against Friends University. The next home games are September 12-13 in the JBU Fall Classic.
