Ladies looking to improve in the standings
Siloam Springs, Arkansas (February 16, 2012) — The Lady Golden Eagles will face Mid America Christian University on Thursday night on the road at 6 p.m. On Saturday they will play No. 1 Oklahoma City University in the Bill George Arena at 3 p.m.
ABOUT THE LADY GODEN EAGLES: JBU moved to eighth in the SAC with a season record of 13-13, 7-11 in conference after going one for one last weekend with a loss against Oklahoma Christian followed by a win against Northwestern Oklahoma University.
Sophomore guard Sierra Shipley is leading the Lady Eagle’s in scoring with 12.1 points per game followed by fellow junior guard Jessica Berlin with 11.8 points per game. Berlin is currently out with a separated shoulder, which should be healed by next week. Freshman Morgan Ankrom is their leading rebounder with 4.7 rebounds per game followed by senior Chelsea Garrison with 4.6. The Lady Eagle’s average 61.1 points per game while holding their opponents to 57.4 points per game.
ABOUT THE MACU LADY EVANGELS: MACU are 10th in the SAC with a record of 10-14, 4-14 in conference. Parrish Price leads MACU in scoring with an average of 12.8 points per game followed by Kourtni Williams with 12.1 points per game. Their leading rebounder is Williams with 6.8 per game followed by Nicole Wittman with 5.3 rebounds per game. As a team they average 59.5 points per game while holding their opponents to only 65.0 points per game.
ABOUT THE OCU LADY STARS: No. 1 OCU has a record of 23-1, 17-1 in conference and are the first seed in the SAC. Dietra Caldwell is their leading scorer with 12.8 points per game followed by Lauren Gober with 12.6. OCU’s leading rebounder is Tiffany Goldwire with 6.5 rebounds per game followed by Desiree Jeffries with 6.3. Their team average is 87.3 points per game while holding their opponents to 52.7. They lead the division in assist/turnover ratio with 1.165 and with their scoring margin of 34.58.
