Page's Career High Leads Men to Victory
Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 3, 2007) — Cody Page’s game high 27 points helped John Brown roll over Science and Arts of Okla. 67-58 on Saturday night in Murray Sells Gymnasium. Joel Tesis followed close behind with 20 points and 13 boards. USAO’s Avery Stevenson led the Drovers with 16. John Brown also got a huge lift off the bench from freshman Davaughn Jackson, who finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
John Brown (13-9, 4-6) took a 10 point lead into the half, but USAO would cut it down to 46-42 with 11:30 remaining on a 3 point bucket from Stevenson. At 8:25 Page would return the favor hitting his seventh 3-pointer of the game to extend the lead to 56-46. With under a minute left to play, Page would seal the deal on a break away lay-up.
John Brown shot 45 percent while Science and Arts of Okla. (4-15, 4-8) struggled only hitting 36 percent of their shots. JBU also dominated the boards collecting 44 boards to only 26 from USAO. John Brown, however, struggled taking care of the ball early in the game and committed 18 turnovers.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Monday when the travel to Shawnee, Okla. to face Oklahoma Baptist. Game time is at 8 p.m.
