The JBU Brown Bulletin is a full-color magazine published for JBU alumni and friends. It is mailed free of charge to alumni, parents of current students, and friends of the university.

Information & Publication Guidelines

Publication Dates: The Brown Bulletin is published each spring and fall. The fall issue goes to print in late October and the spring issue goes to print in late April. (Some subscribers are experiencing postal service delays that affect the delivery of the Brown Bulletin.)

Alumni Update Submission: Each issue publishes alumni updates such as weddings, births, promotions, book publications, awards, etc. To submit an update email Jay Nickel. Any accompanying photos must be a high-quality minimum of 300 dpi. Submissions are due one month before the press deadline and JBU reserves the right to edit submissions. Alumni updates that conflict with JBU's institutional commitments may be declined.

Obituaries: Obituaries for alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the university may be published in the In Memoriam section of the magazine at the editor's discretion. Information will include name, age, date of death and JBU degree or program. The listing will also be published online with a link to an online obituary if available. 

Story Ideas: If you have an idea for an alumni profile or feature story, please feel free to email Jay Nickel, managing editor of the bulletin. Please note that each issue of the magazine has a theme that helps determine content.
