SAMPLE: Homecoming 2013 Highlights
Battle of the Basketball Teams!
Current Men's Team vs. Alumni team (former players)
Friday Oct. 4th at 7:30 p.m. in the Bill George Arena
It's Sheehy vs. Sheehy! That's right, Coach Clark Sheehy's current team will challenge former coach John Sheehy's team of alumni players. The game will be held on the Sheehy Basketball Court, named in honor of John's many years as head coach of JBU's Men's Basketball. You never know what might happen when young Golden Eagle Athletes go up against seasoned players!
(Yes, oxygen will be provided for alumni players. However, you must bring your own knee braces, Icy-Hot packs, and Advil.)
Freshman Student Play: "A Murder is Announced"
Written by Agatha Christie; Adapted for the Stage by Leslie Darbon
The tenants of Miss Blacklock's Victorian home are surprised to read an advertisement in the local paper announcing a murder will take place in their home on Friday the 13th at 6:30 p.m. What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, twists and turns as characters dodge dangers and discover the truth.
At the Berry Performing Arts Center:
Friday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 5th at 2:00 p.m.
Friday, October 11th at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 12th at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for alumni/senior adults, $8 for non-JBU students, and $3 for JBU students. Tickets will go on sale 9/1/13 at jbu.edu/tickets or by calling 479.524.7382
Natural and Health Sciences Reunion
Plan to join your other science major alumni, current students and faculty, as well as former professors for a brunch in the Bell Science Hall on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Come prepared to share a funny lab story, a fond memory or professors, and interesting stories of what you are doing with that boat-load of knowledge you gained at JBU.
If you haven't seen our new Honors/LSI Center, then this is the year to do it! Meet some of the great students now in the program and visit with Dr. Shirley Thomas, Dr. Brad Gambill, Dr. Gary Guinn, Dr. Trisha Posey, and, of course, Glenda Manos. Bring you post JBU adventures and stories to share with us all. The fun starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Hospitality Suite above the Bill George Arena where we'll watch the "Battle of the Basketball Teams." Then on Saturday, after the Showcase Performance, head over to the Honors Center for a final opportunity to chat with professors and friends.
Showcase Dinner and Alumni Awards
Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the Simmons Great Hall
The Simmons Great Hall inaugural Showcase Dinner will highlight the facility's many new features. This memorable night will include special music performed by the Cathedral Choir and presentation of the Alumni Awards. You will be amazed to see how this new campus addition enhances your Homecoming experience.

Student & Young Alumni Showcase Performance
Saturday at 7:00 p.m., Cathedral of the Ozarks
In addition to presenting this year's Outstanding Alumnus Award, we will be treated to a night of some of the best student and young alumni talent. Our musical theme for this year's performance is "Music Through the Decades." Christian Comedian and entertainer, Taylor Mason, along with senior student, Allie Miller, will co-emcee our program. You'll hear some of the best, most popular music that all will be able to enjoy. And, of course, the JBU Jazz Band and the Chamber Orchestra will be back to accompany several of the performers. No charge for this event.
For future JBU alumni, KidZone is the place to be! Activities include arts and crafts, gym relays, Saturday night pool party in the JBU indoor pool (lifeguard on duty), and much more!
Hours for KidZone are Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (includes evening snack) and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner provided.
