Types of Aid
Federal Financial Aid
Federal financial aid is available in the form of Pell grants and Stafford student loans to supplement educational expenses or cover the cost of the Advance program. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be completed as soon as possible in order to receive the best possible aid.
State Aid
A student who is an Arkansas resident and completes their FAFSA may receive a small Arkansas grant if their FAFSA results meet the need criteria and if funds are available.
Loan Forgiveness for Business Information Systems Students
Students in the Business Information Systems (BIS) program could be eligible for the Arkansas Technical Careers Student Loan Forgiveness Program and should check their website for instructions.
Alternative Student Loans
In some instances, students need (or prefer) to use alternative student loans rather than federal loans. These loans are treated similarly but are based on personal credit.
Scholarships
There are currently no institutional scholarships available for the Advance program. We encourage you to check with your employer, church, social clubs, etc. for outside scholarships to assist you.
Single Parent Scholarship
Special scholarships are available through the Arkansas Single Parents Scholarship.
