1. The Louisville Institute (Lilly Endowment)
The Louisville Institute seeks to enhance the understanding of American religion. Preference in all grant programs will be given to proposals that in creative ways bring together the wisdom of the academy o behalf of the revitalization of American Christians and their churches.

2. Foundation for Child Development
The foundation makes grants nationally to nonprofit institutions for research, policy analysis, advocacy, and leadership development. Three themes guide FCD's work: linking research on children and families to formation of relevant programs and policies; identifying fresh approaches to crafting sound social strategies for children and families; and nurturing new generations of leaders in child development research and policy.

B. Business
1. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation
The
"Business Organizations" program supports research on how
corporations and other business organizations function, with special
emphasis on how the people in them actually behave, how they are motivated,
and how they are rewarded. The Foundation has supported work in economics,
corporate law, and business, as well as sociology, anthropology, political
science and business history.

2. The Hagley Museum and Library
Research grants are awarded
for 2 week to 2 month projects at the library. The library houses an
important collection documenting the history of American business and
technology.

3. The Coleman Foundation
The Coleman Foundation is committed to the principles of self-determination, self-reliance, self-respect, and individual initiative. The Foundation believes these characteristics are essential to the development of entrepreneurs and their pursuit of self-employment. According to the Foundation, entrepreneurship is defined as: "self-employment through business ownership which has significant elements of risk, control and reward."

4. The Kauffman Foundation
The Kauffman Foundation works to accelerate entrepreneurship in America by reaching individuals through two areas of emphasis: the delivery of entrepreneurship education and development, and the promotion of an entrepreneurial environment. Nowhere is this commitment more important than at the college level. The Kauffman Foundation embraces the ideal that every college student with the dream of becoming an entrepreneur will have access to the educational resources necessary to make that dream a reality.

1. International Speech Communication
The ISCA provides grants

The Blakemore Foundation makes grants for exhibitions, programs or publications dealing with the fine arts of Asia. Fellowships are also available for language study.

The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation supports

3. Graham Foundation for the Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts

4. J. Paul Getty Trust
The Getty offers residential grants and
fellowships through its theme-year scholar programs, library research
grants, and conservation guest scholars program. Nonresidential grants

Los Angeles.

5. Paul G. Allen Family Foundation for Music
The foundation supports the creation and
presentation of American popular music. Projects supported include music

The Alcoholic Beverage Medical Research
Foundation (ABMRF) "exists to improve the quality of people's lives"

7. The Lalor Foundation
The Lalor Foundation makes grants to research in reproductive biology, such as the regulation of fertility in mammalian reproduction. The goal of the foundation is to promote intensive research in these areas and to assist and encourage recent postdoctoral investigators in academic positions to follow careers in reproductive physiology. Those who have their doctoral degree for less than five years are preferred.

11. The National Research Council
The NRC Postdoctoral
Research Associateship Program is affiliated with thirty federal laboratories
and NASA Research Centers. Awards are made to Postdoctoral Associates
(within 5 years of the doctorate) and Senior Associates (beyond 5 years
from the doctorate). Each awardee works in collaboration with a Research
Adviser, who is a staff member of the laboratory.
