Shirley Forbes Thomas International Studies Scholarship

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic achievement, Christian character, financial need, and quality of faculty recommendation. Preference will be given to students with little or no prior international experience. In addition, students must have a completed summer study program application on file and be available to help promote summer study programs in the Fall 2004 semester. This scholarship is for the amount of $500, which will be applied to the expenses for the Irish Studies or Puebla Studies 2004 team. (click here to view past winners)

Applicants must submit to the International Programs Office the following materials:

A Shirley Forbes Thomas International Studies Scholarship application, available at the International Programs Office.
One letter of recommendation from a John Brown University professor. The professor should comment on the student's academic qualities as well as the student's ability to function effectively as a member of a group.
An unofficial John Brown University transcript.

Submit completed applications to the International Programs Office by February 1, 2004.
