Dr. Bob Gustavson came to John Brown University in 1980. Dr. Gustavson teaches the Wellness, CPR and First Aid courses. Dr. Gustavson is also the head coach of the John Brown University Men's soccer team.

By bringing energy to the classroom, Dr. Gustavson impacts students and the way they view their physical fitness. Dr. Gustavson presents a Biblically based view of the field of fitness in hopes to not only impart information but truly change the lives.

Outside of JBU, Dr. Gustavson is active and likes to be outdoors. He enjoys fly fishing and ties his own flies. Had Dr. Gustavson not become a professor and coach, he believes he would have worked in something physical and hands-on on, such as carpentry.
