Welcome to the Department of Chemistry
The Chemistry Department of John Brown University offers two degrees:
A minor in Chemistry is also available.
Courses in the Chemistry department emphasize laying a strong foundation of the fundamental principles of chemistry and allowing students to see these principals applied in the laboratory.
Opportunities
Students are given regular opportunities to develop their laboratory skills through both class assignments and research opportunities with faculty of the Chemistry Department. Some of the most current technology has been made available to students and faculty for use in research. Students are challenged to make practical use of their knowledge through service learning projects that allow students to help the community using their knowledge of chemistry.
