Senior Student Directors

Jana Director PictureJana Strom
StromJJ@jbu.edu

Hi, I’m Jana Strom and I am a senior this year at JBU. I am double majoring in Biology and Family and Human Services and minoring in Chemistry. I was born and raised in Broken Arrow, OK. I really enjoy playing on the Ultimate Frisbee team at JBU, painting, generally being outside, and much more. During these past few years I’ve been able to work at a few camps and really have a passion for children and speaking life and value into them. I also have had the opportunity to go to the Philippines and work with a medical mission team for a summer. Along with those things, I have a huge passion for LSI. I love LSI because it empowers and challenges individuals to grow into the people God created them to be—confident and purposeful Christian leaders that are ready to influence and impact the world around them.

Hi! My name is Kendra McIlvain.  I am a senior this year at JBU, my major is Psychology, with a minor in Biology.  I am from Cheyenne, Wyoming, but I fall more in love with Arkansas every semester!  I love riding bikes, long conversations over coffee and any kind of outdoor adventure.  I am an LSI director because I believe that strong Christian leadership is essential to our world, and I believe our generation can be transformed by those who take it seriously.  I am so excited to be a part of a program geared toward developing leadership skills so that God will be glorified.

Hey, I am Drax. I am a senior Mechanical Engineering Major with an Enhancement in Renewable Energy. I also have minors in Leadership and Religion & Philosophy. I am from Rogers, Arkansas; however, I have been blessed to live and travel all over the world. My favorite destination is probably Singapore where I lived for two years. I love reading and discussing new ideas in leadership and technology, and, when I can, I try to hit the road for a little cycling. I am an LSI director because my passion is to help others develop as leaders so they can turn their dreams into a reality. Any time you want to talk about how to change vision into action, I would love to have that conversation with you! LSI has been the best part of my JBU experience, and upon graduation I plan to work in leadership development.

Junior Student Directors

Kamber Director PictureKamber Burleson

Hi y'all! My name is Kamber. I am a junior majoring in marketing and I am SUPER EXCITED about leadership for the Kingdom. I am from a small town at the very top of Texas called Perryton. A few of my favorite things to do include, baking, crafting, practicing calligraphy and watercolors, and spending quality time with sweet friends and family! I am an LSI Director because I am passionate about what LSI stands for: Equipping Leaders, Empowering Passions, and Eternal Significance. LSI has become a valued part of my experience here at JBU, and it is my desire to pour back into the program. I love being a part of a group of empowered individuals that desire to use their passions to make an eternal impact for the Kingdom.

Hey everybody! My name is Mallory Coffey. I am a junior Accounting and Marketing double major, and I just got married this last May in my hometown (Bentonville, AR). I am really passionate about NFL football (go pack!), living a healthy lifestyle, challenging the process, and people! I am an LSI director because Christian leadership excites me! It seriously gives me goose bumps. I love that this program empowers people to use what God has already placed in their reach to make change for the Kingdom. This position gives me an opportunity to work with some of the greatest world-changers to invest in student leaders.

Sophomore Student Directors

Hanna Wingert
WingertH@jbu.edu

Hi friends! My name is Hanna Wingert and I am a sophomore from Wichita, KS. I am a Family and Human Services Major and a Spanish minor. I absolutely love Arkansas and anything from exploring new coffee shops to cliff jumping at a lake somewhere. I’m a big fan of weight lifting but I mostly do it so I can eat great food and explore new restaurants.  I also really love spending time with friends over a cup of coffee; the best conversations usually happen over coffee. I have developed a passion for relationships and people which is a big part of why I am an LSI Director.  I believe Christian leadership is a necessity for thriving communities and part of that is discovering who God has created each of us to be. I love that LSI is all about empowering students to take the gifts God has given them and use them to glorify him through leadership.

Jared Besse
BesseJ@jbu.edu

I am Jared Besse a sophomore in Political Science at JBU. I also am working on a minor in both Business Management and Leadership. I am from the Dallas area, specifically in Garland.  I love to play card and board games, read, be outside and hanging out with my friends.  I also love to travel and to go snorkeling. (Even though I have only done it a few times). I am very passionate about leadership. It started when I was in Boy Scouts doing leadership positions. I have worked at camp with kids and lead in a variety of positions in high school and beyond. I am so excited to serve on the director team and I can’t wait to help LSI. I love being a part of a group like LSI that is about teaching and equipping leaders for the Kingdom of God.
