Testimonials
Everyone knew the Political Science Department was one of the toughest on campus, but we took pride in knowing that our professors were challenging us to think and reason for ourselves. Now working in government and on federal campaign, I can see the concepts that were instilled in met at JBU gave me a better understanding and perspective of our government, its history, and its operations.

In the Political Science department, the professors taught me to think analytically, write logically and postulate creatively. Each of these skills proved invaluable in my graduate work and now also in the professional work. The academic rigor within the department taught me to understand and critique new research and ideas with intellectual sophistication.

JBU’s political science department stands out because of its unique study abroad opportunities. I spent a summer studying peace and conflict in Northern Ireland, and it was one of the most outstanding experiences of my life. JBU’s unique emphasis on a “place as text” learning style made course material come alive and take on real-world significance, while also enhancing the competitiveness of my academic resume.
