SST 1113 Introduction to Sociology (Three hours)
Understanding sociological research and how to apply it to aid in developing a global
perspective of today's world. Topics of emphasis include the individual and society,
structures of power, and social institutions common to all cultures and societies. The
sociology of the body-health and illness, sexuality, and aging-is also discussed.

SST 1133 Cultural Geography (Three hours)
Use of cartographic media as a means of communication. Instruction in techniques
of interpretation of such media. Meets state requirements for elementary and
secondary teachers.

SST 1143 World Regional Geography (Three hours)
General survey of world regions including a study of geographic factors which underlie
strengths of world powers. Meets state requirements for elementary and secondary
teachers.

SST 2123 Cultural Anthropology (Three hours)
The study of culture, language, economics, kinship, marriage, gender, social control,
social stratification, religion, art, and cultural change from an applied anthropological
perspective using case studies.
