Department of Psychology
Psychology is the science of behavior and mental processes. Thus, courses in the Department of Psychology introduce students to the methods of psychology as a science, psychological language, literature, principles, and schools of thought. A key distinctive of our department is that faculty consider the relationship between biblical truth and psychological truth.
Psychology courses serve as important prerequisites for graduate study, but may also contribute to preparation for a variety of church and social work situations. Instructors offer both vocational and educational counseling to help you transition to graduate study or employment.
For the psychology major who does not pursue graduate study, careers in business, church work, welfare, or any area where psychological training might be beneficial are the usual options. With a graduate degree in psychology, you will have even more opportunities in teaching, counseling, administration, research, social work, church work, consulting, and testing.
