Scott Jones completed his undergraduate coursework at JBU in History and Pre-Theological Studies, and received his juris doctorate from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law. He also completed an M.A. in Political Science from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in History (studying the lawyers of Renaissance Venice) at the University of Wales, Swansea. Mr. Jones specializes in Constitutional Law and Political Theory. At JBU, Mr. Jones teaches Christianity and the Legal Profession, American Government, Constitutional Law, International Relations, and Political Philosophy. He particularly enjoys the Constitutional Law and the Honors Political Philosophy classes.

Mr. Jones is also heavily involved in international programs at JBU. In the summer of 2004 he started the first major specific summer study abroad program, focusing on international relations and the peace process in Northern Ireland. This Belfast-based program was repeated in 2005. In 2007, Mr. Jones began a summer study abroad program in Italy for history students. Recently, he was selected to direct JBU’s semester abroad program in Ireland for Fall 2008.

Professor Jones is married to fellow JBU history grad, Tasha (Leadabrand) Jones. They have two children, a son Aidan (5), and a daughter Carys (1).
