Division of Engineering and Construction Management-
Department of Construction Management

The John Brown University Construction Management Department has been graduating men and women for nearly 70 years. Our alumni have achieved great success in a variety of marketplace positions as well as vital contributions to the mission field. This success has been fostered, in part, by the development that has been gained here at JBU. We are proud of our students and alumni and of the uniqueness of our program. Knowledgeable faculty, applied theory, hands-on experience, technological skill, and a Christian atmosphere, all contribute to make JBU’s CM program distinct. The JBU campus environment and the Department of Construction Management is a place where you will not only gain spiritual, theoretical and practical knowledge but also develop life long relationships.

A Construction Management graduate will have the skills, knowledge, and attributes he or she will need for construction management positions. These skills are developed through coursework in materials, construction communication, commercial and residential construction methods, estimating, scheduling, safety and quality, architectural and structural design, surveying, and construction contracting. Practical application is gained through the Eagle Construction Experience. The ECE is a yearlong capstone class managed by seniors for the construction of a residence. Supported with a broad core curriculum, students from this program graduate holistically trained to contribute to the construction industry.
In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, the coursework includes a minor in Business Administration.

In the construction industry it is important to know the availability of resources and the constraints within which to work. In the same way, your success as a JBU CM student depends on your knowing what is available to you and what is expected from you. As a CM major, you are a valued part of the Department of Construction Management and are expected to take advantage of the available opportunities and to take responsibility for the facilities and tools that are entrusted to you.

The degree includes a minor in Business Administration.
