Department of Music

Auditions & Aid

85% of JBU students receive some form of financial aid. Most students receive more than one form of aid. Awards range from $500 to $4,500 and are renewable for a total of eight semesters. To retain the scholarship students must maintain a 2.0 GPA each semester, a 3.0 GPA in the major applied area, and a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Scholarships are reviewed and adjusted annually.

In addition to scholarships for majors in the Music Department, we offer renewable merit-based ensemble scholarships for all students for satisfactory participation. Ensemble scholarships are awarded on the basis of an audition with the ensemble director.

Students who demonstrate outstanding academic and musical potential may be offered additional scholarships. The admission audition serves as the basis for consideration for these scholarships.

In addition to scholarships for majors and ensemble participants, a variety of other awards are available, including merit-based academic scholarships, need-based grants, loans, and employment in the work-study program. More about Financial Aid at JBU.
