Jim Blankenship to Translate Commentaries
Jim Blankenship has been invited by the Institute of Classical Christian Studies to be the first to translate John of Damascus' Commentaries from Romans to Hebrews into English from the Greek language. InterVarsity Press will publish the commentaries as part of a new 12 volume set, the "Ancient Christian Texts Series." Thomas C. Oden and Gerald Bray serve as general editors and Christopher Hall will serve as the associate general editor.
Prof. Bonnie Osmon Recieves Ceritified Family Life Educator Designation
"Bonnie Osmon, Ph. D. Assistant Professor, L.M.F.T., L.P.C. Has
received the National Council on Family Relations' Certified Family
Life Educator (CFLE) Designation. Dr. Osmon has more than 20 years
experience as a family therapist and supervisor. She teaches family
studies courses in the Division of Biblical Studies and graduate
counseling courses at JBU.
The CFLE designation recognizes professionals in the family life
education field as qualified family life educators. The credential
denotes a proven background and knowledge in ten Family Life Substance
Areas including: Families and Society, Internal Family Dynamics,
Human Growth and Development, Human Sexuality, Interpersonal Relationships,
Family Resource Management, Parent Education, Family Law and Public
Policy, Ethics, and Family Life Education Methodology. Over 1200
family life educators have been certified since 1985."
Galen Johnson (Biblical Studies) served as the conference organizer and secretary for the National Conference on Christianity and Literature in Washington, DC, Dec. 28-30. He is also involved in the annual board meetings for the organization. His article, "The Tribulation in Revelation and its Literary-Theological Milieu" has been included in the hardbound volume of 2001-2005 articles from the Journal of Greco-Roman Christianity and Judaism, published by Sheffield University Press.
